Our History
In 1972 Ed Matonich founded Matonich Law with a focused mission: bringing justice to people harmed by the negligence of others. In 1997, Julie Matonich joined the firm, opening an office in Minneapolis. With her father’s retirement in 2020, Julie carries on the firm’s passion and commitment today.
Justice for Every Client
Matonich Law is driven to work on behalf of infants, children and teens from all backgrounds. We represent our clients’ interests, taking on large institutions including medical systems, corporations, insurance companies, and correctional and detention facilities.
We are not a high volume law firm. We are instead focused on providing care and attention to clients where we can make a real difference. This starts with taking time to ask good questions and understand each story, including the impact each case has on the lives of patients, their families, and the community.
Our firm provides comfort to clients and an understanding of their concerns. We are listeners who lead sensitive conversations with compassion, and we are passionate about giving a voice to people who may otherwise feel helpless or hopeless. We believe our responsibility to clients extends beyond a settlement or a verdict. After a favorable verdict or settlement, we work with clients to suggest options or resources they can consider to help protect, invest, and use the money they receive.
Our firm measures success by how we make a positive difference in the lives of our clients and their families. We also hope that by bringing a lawsuit, our clients will educate medical providers and systems about errors and encourage them to review and improve their practices and policies.
